Outta The Blue

Outta The Blue Cafe is one of the most unique coffee shops in the Kansas City area. Its Hawaiian themed interior decked out with surfboards, a hay shack and even swing seating, is what sets it apart from the rest. I found out about this place from one of my friends instagrams and at first sight I could not believe that this was in Kansas. Each time I've been has been a pleasant experience. This is defiantly the place to go if you want a cool place to hang and do some catching up with friends. This time around I got an iced matcha with almond milk, lavender and honey, my go to when I don't need any extra caffein, and one of their veggie wraps, but I've tried their cold brew here in the past and it was delicious , bold and was really smooth in flavor. Food wise the wrap was pretty good, very light and refreshing but nothing too different than what I've tried at other shops. The also carry Mattie's Food which is a vegan restaurant based in KC. I've tried one of their vegan breakfast sandwiches at Outta the Blue in the past and it was so good, almost too good. I had a really hard time believing that it was vegan. So I highly recommend it even if you don't have a dietary restriction. The interior is really the star of the show. There are palm trees and other tropical plants greeting you at the entry and every where else where around the shop, swings lining one side of the shop at the tables, and really upbeat music. That being said it is not the best environment for studying but still really fun to go to. Seating here is a bit limited, they have some tables, some seating at the bar, and a high top but each time I have been to this place it is always buzzing with people. If you have a free weekend and maybe want to grab some coffee with a friend, this is defiantly the place to go!
