Mother Earth Coffee

Mother Earth Coffee is a coffee shop that I used to frequent. I loved the nod to Mother Nature in their name and they always have the most delicious seasonal flavors. It's located underneath a luxury apartment complex. The atmosphere inside is pretty calm and always quiet. Everyone there was in their zones working. The baristas there were also really nice. I got a cold brew with raspberry syrup and a little almond milk and it was really good. The raspberry flavor wasn't too sweet and the cold brew was really smooth. They also had a wide selection of pastries to choose from which was nice if you are in the mood for snacking. I got one of their chocolate croissants only because I didn't see any of their almond ones this time around. I do have to say that the almond croissants are one of the best in town. You actually can taste the almond in them and they are huge. Some of the things that has brought me back to this place time and time again is mainly the location. It's in a really friendly, quirky part of Kansas City, smack in the middle of Hyde park. I also really enjoy some of the granola bars that they sell. Its pretty big inside but some how still has that cozy neighborhood coffee shop feel. With all that space they have quite the range of seating options, whether you want to sit outside at a table, inside at the bar, maybe in a couch by the fire place or spread out at a long table. There is also some seating just outside of the coffee shop by the apartment entrance that's a little more quieter if you need some privacy. They also have a nice little bulletin board with news and events of happenings around the neighborhood. Overall I really like this place and its great if you want to go somewhere to sit and work.
Personally, I think Starbucks is way overrated now and was actually looking for a new coffee shop. I need to try this place. The inside does look cozy.
